I
recently purchased a
Toshiba
notebook computer. The main reason I
purchased a Toshiba was mainly because
of the great $300 rebate offered. I
filled out all the required
information, and sent the correct
receipts, including the orignial UPC
code needed for the rebates. Recently
I received a letter stating that only
one rebate of $140.00 will be given,
due to the fact I need two more
original UPC codes from the carton to
get the other two rebates. Note: All
three rebates are being offered
through Toshiba,
so they are the only company that
received the orginal UPC. Customer
service stated that the original UPC
code was received in another
department of the company and to get
the other two rebates I need to send
their department a copy also. Now I
bought only one notebook, where would
I get another two original UPC codes?
The only other option I have is to
take my notebook to a office supply
store and copy the bottom surface
showing the codes and serial numbers
and to fill out a new information
form, (giving me a deadline of one
week to do so.) The notebook was
purchased on Febuary 24, 2004 and they
just notified me about this issue. So
here I am out of town without my
notebook, by the time I return it will
be late to mail in the information
necessary to receive the remaing
rebate that was offered. So I am
screwed. This is a means of Toshiba
screwing the consumer out of the
advertised rebate.

I
wanted to change our domain owner
information including name, address,
etc. We parked our domain at Total
Hosting. You must fax the
original owner information as well as
a photo copy of their id, along with
the new owner's information. It sounds
fairly easy and safe. Unfortunately, I
have faxed this paper to Total
Hosting
at least four times as well as
called them by phone. Yet no changes
are made. I have been attempting to do
this for over two months now. Also,
they only answer the phone about 1 out
of every 5 times. We only use them
just to park a domain...what would it
be like if they were your host? I
could not imagine....
